Question: Help plz! How long does it take until I get braces.?
I wanna know how many appts.. after my first visit w/ the orthodontists will i get my braces.? Im 14 btw if the helps.. My teeth are crooked on tthe bottom row so if they'd have to pull a tooth will it make the process longer.? I only want bottom braces though becuz my top teeth are straight.. My first visit is 2wks from now.. also do they put the spacers on the first day you visit.? When you get your tooth pulled will it look messed up until you get your braces on or do they pull out your back teeth to make room.? also does the orthodontists pull the teeth when about to put on the braces that day or do you have to go to your dentists and get them pulled.? I really appreciate all those who helped i have waited years to get my smile fixed and went thru times of teasing about it.. im so ready 4 my braces!!!!!!!!!1Thnx..Health Question & Answer

IT TAKES SO LONG USUALLY THEY PULL SOME TEETH OUT TO MAKE UR TEETH SPREAD MORE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS U TOO..O AND U DONT ONLY GET THEM ON THE BOTTOM U HAVE TO GET THEM BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM SO THEY CAN COME OUT GOOD AND PERFECT..U WONT GET UR BRACES THE 1ST TIME THEY HAVE TO SEE WHAT KIND OF WORK THEY HAVE TO DO..WELL THEY PUT THE BRACES ON 1ST AND THEY SKIP THE ONES THEY R GOIN TO PULL OUT THEN U GO TO UR DENTIST AND THEY PULL THEM OUT THEN U GO BACK AND THEY STRETCH AND TIGHTEND UR BRACES..OMG UR JUST LIKE ME 2 LOL I CANT WAIT TO GET MINES EITHER WELL IF U HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS U CAN EMAIL ME OK HOPE I HELPED..I KNO ALOT BOUT UR PROBLEM CUZ I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM LOL I SAID PROBLEM ALOT LMAO =DHealth Question & Answer

Mine didn't take that long..
I went for my first appointment on the 2nd june.. Had some x-rays and a chat about how I benifit from having braces.. my second appointment was 20th june.. I had another xray and a mould and had to bite this metal thing (I really don't know why so I can't tell you sorry) .. Then my orthodontist said to me "You'll get your braces on the next time you come, so make an appointment when you get downstairs, I won't be doing it, a lady will and you can choose some colours for them" so after that I thanked him and went down to make an appontment for my braces to be fitted.. which is August 29th.. I'm getting 2 teeth out on the 13th august.. just over 2 weeks before I get my brace, so it has enough time to heal.. It doesn't slow down the process..

it depends on how busy you ortho is.. for me my first consultation that was just explaining what needed to be done and he looked at my teeth.. that was in march and then in the end of april i had x-rays and pictures taken then i had to get some teeth pulled and the dentist was busy and so i had to get them pulled in the middle of july and to let the gaps heal a little i went and on august 14th i got my braces on:) thats 6 months.. but you must take in to concideration that i had to wait to get them on because of the 5 teeth that need to be pulled.. if you ask your ortho at the consultation he will estimate or even set a date to put your braces on.. oh and the put the spacers on about 1 or 2 weeks before they put the braces on so if you get your spacers put on and you still dont know when you will get them on just think that you will have them a few weeks after that..Health Question & Answer
