oh gosh I hate those things! once while I was getting my bottoms done for my retainer the stuff wasn't quite ready and she had to take it out and remix it and do it over
I gag really easy but they usually ask if I want numbing spray and wow does that taste gross....

i too, hate having impressions done.. what i did when i most recently had mine done was after the stuff was in my mouth like it was supposed to be, I tilted my head towards the floor, that way the gooey stuff couldnt drip to the back of my throat and make me gag.. I had them when I got my braces.. I have a easy gag reflex and I thought I would gag and end up puking on the nurse, xD.. But I didn't gag at all.. It was my first time, but when she did the bottom, I could feel the beginnings of a gag coming on, but it never happened..Health Question & Answer
I hate them too, I had to get some a couple of weeks ago.. The best thing to stop yourself from gagging is to close your eyes and swallow alot.. If you keep swallowing it will stop you from needing to gag.. I do that sometimes at the doctor when they check your mouth.. I hope I helped!Health Question & Answer

Breathing thru your nose will keep you from gagging.. Dont concentrate on it, its not that bad..Health Question & Answer
