that is normal.. it hurts the worst the first time they tighten.. the more and more you get them tightened, the less it hurts.. i just got my braces tightened for like the 5th time and it didn't hurt nearly as bad as it did the 1st time.. except for when you get into thicker wire.. then it will probably hurt like it does now.. any way try taking 2 ibprofens and don't eat hard foods..
try eating things like apple sauce and yogurt etc..
hope this helps! :)Health Question & Answer

My daughter has braces and she had a rough time when they were first put in.. Try taking advil every 4 to 6 hours.. Taking it here and there didn't seem to cut it when it came to pain.. also, try and eat very soft foods so that you don't put any extra presure on your mouth.. I assure you that in a few day's you'll feel better.. If not....call the orthodotist just to make sure nothing is being pinched in your mouth.. Remember......no pain, no gain.. Your teeth will look fantabulous before you know it!!!

i know how you feel, the pain is natural and the pain shows that your braces are working.. believe me my teeth hurt too when i got mine.. even medicine didnt work for me! trust me in like 2 weeks the pain will stop and if it doesnt take advil its the best for bracesHealth Question & Answer

i feel your pain.. When I got my braces the orthodontist told me i should go get something to eat, but i couldnt.. i couldnt even bite through a hamburger bun.. The pain will go away.. it took about 4 or so days for me..Health Question & Answer

That is perfectly normal.. I would eat soft foods, like applesauce, and drink cold things.. It should go away in a couple of days.. If in a week or two it still hurts, I would most definitely go back to the orthodontist..Health Question & Answer

thats normal..
relax, watch some tv.. (:
get your mind off of it..
lightly tap your upper jaw and lower jaw together [tiny taps] that sometimes helps..
GOOD LUCK!Health Question & Answer
