What DL And DO means in dental terminology?!


Question: What DL And DO means in dental terminology.?
I went to a dentist and he gave me a quote for the following.. I dont know what they mean but I can just see the prices.. In layman's term please.. Thanks

RCT= root canal treatment

The next three describe tooth surfaces, so they are most likely talking about fillings..

DL=distal lingual (back side and tongue side of tooth)
DO=distal occlusal (back side and biting surface of tooth)
MO=mesial occlusal (front side and biting surface of tooth)

UL=Upper left
LL=Lower left

PFM=porcelain fused to metal (metal crown with tooth colored porcelain over the top to look natural)

Best insurances will cover a lot on cleanings (prophylaxis) or anything preventative and have a smaller deductible..Health Question & Answer
