Salty taste in my mouth after wisdom tooth removal..?!

Question: Salty taste in my mouth after wisdom tooth removal.....?
My mouth, and particularly my wound, tastes like salt.. It's soo annoying- and kind of gross..

Like, after I use my mouthwash, 5 minutes later the salt taste is back.. And, when I put my tongue by the wisdom tooth removal area, it gets stronger tasting like salt..

WHY.? thanks..Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Its blood that you're tasting..

The mouthwash you're using is probably making your wounds bleed because of the cleansing alcohol that is in it..

SLOWLY, and lightly take a tissue and bite down on it.. If you see bleeding, put a tea bag in warm water and bite down on it in the back of your mouth.. (don't bite open the tea bag)..

Only do the salt rinses, and wait to use your mouthwash..

**IF you're not bleeding when you did the tissue test, I reccomend you to call your oral surgeon/dentist!Health Question & Answer

the dentist probably used slted water to disinfect it (and the reason why it may take long to go away is because he sprayed it with a strong water jet)
but i'm not sure.. it might be the blood in your mouth that you taste abit.. anyways it is a good idea to disinfect your mouth often with salt water..
does it hurt a lot.?Health Question & Answer

Is it painful.? Could you have an infection.?
Sounds like it is draining.?.?.?

If there is no pain........I would call the dentists office Monday morn.. If its hurting and throbbing-- I would call their answering service NOW and get them to have someone call you.. You may need an anti-biotic..Health Question & Answer

I think it may just be blood, that's normal after you've had a tooth removed, did you not think that that's all it might be.?Health Question & Answer
