Why can't i bite my nails?!
Question: Why can't i bite my nails.?
When i get braces on i am not allowed to bite my nails what so ever......Is their a reason why.? I have a bad habit of biting my nails so i think i am going to get fake nails on or put nail polish on that way i will Def.. not bite themHealth Question & Answer

Probably because they can get stuck in your braces and that is gross.. Plus nails are hard and with braces you can't chew hard items like ice or chew on pens because you can pop of a bracket..Health Question & Answer
Well its cuz it might get stuck in ur braces and plus in can ruin them to, like when you wear a pair of shoes way to much and they start to wear down a little..It can wear down your braces or i think "strain

They have this nail polish that helps you not bite your nails though, sadly i don't know what its called but you can look on the internet..I don't think fake nails will work because you can still bite on them and not realize it so i think the best thing to do is to get the nail polish.. If you bite your nails, the bits of nail can get caught in and under the braces and that can make your 'perfect smile' less perfect ...... and those bits of nail can 'rot' and start your teeth rotting ...... I know of at least three people who should have perfect smiles, but because they didn't use good hygiene, and they bit their nails, they now have very rotten teeth and look terrible..
