Dental math- what is my 30 percent co-pay for a filling that costs $295?!

Question: Dental math- what is my 30 percent co-pay for a filling that costs $295.?
My seven year old son needs to have a filling replaced.. The cost is $295 (geesh!) and my insurance pays 70 percent of it.. They tell me that my part (30 percent) of that $295 comes to $179.. Now, I never did well in math; however, where does she gets that 179 is 30 percent of 295.? Wouldn't 179 be 30 percent of 599.?
They absolutely insist that my 30 percent of the 295 fee is 179.. I'm stuck with this dentist for at least a while, as I've already paid for ortho treatments for my other son, so I need to be tactful and kind about this..
Am I the nut.? What is the average cost of a filling in front for a child and what do you all think I should do about this situation.?
