What are alternatives to head gear for a 12 year old girl.? The ortho says that my top jaw is growing slower than my lower jaw.. Would braces with rubber bands work.?Health Question & Answer

Braces with rubber bands wouldn't work for that problem.. However, sometimes there are appliances that can fit inside your mouth that can do what the headgear does.. I would ask your dentist/orthodontist about this.. If he doesn't use this type of appliance you may want a second opinion.. There are a lot of different techniques out there.. You can research online.. Search under "orthodontic appliances".. The more informed you are, the more likely you are to be happy with whatever treatment you receive..
