Help! i'm getting expanders today??!
Question: Help! i'm getting expanders today.?.?
in a few hours, i'll be having expanders put in for 5 months.. how much should i expect them to hurt over this time.? also, the orthodontist mentioned that i would have a lisp for a little while, and i'm starting school on monday.. will the lisp be gone in 3-4 days.?

I had an expander on the top, and I couldn't talk right at all.. Nobody could understand what I was saying, and I could never actually talk normally.. I could talk kind of normal 2 months later.. If you read a magazine or talk out loud it's a lot easier to get used to talking.. Then again the expander I had turned so there might be a difference.. I didn't hurt much at all, it was just annoying..Health Question & Answer
