What should I eat after having a tooth pulled?!

Question: What should I eat after having a tooth pulled.?
I had my back top molar pulled today.. The post-operative instructions from my dentist said that I should not drink or eat anything hot, do not drink through a straw for 24 hours and to eat only soft foods for the day.. I have no idea what I should eat that would fall under those instructions.. It seems most soups and such require some sort of chewing which I can't do and besides it has to be at least room temperature.. also I can't live on pudding and applesauce.. I need a real meal.. Any ideas.? I need to eat something!Health Question & Answer

It will only be a day or two that you will eat soups/soft foods.. Mashed potatoes, broth, tomatoe soup things like tht.. And don't listen to Steelers! That is why he got a dry sockeT! lol You don't want to drink sodas or use a straw.. What tht will do is give you a dry socket and it will HURT more than the extraction itself.. Do be careful because dry sockets are not fun.. Eat wht the others told you.. Scrambled eggs, noodles, you can eat them try chewing on the side you didn't have the extraction.. also if they gave you a syringe to rinse extracted area, use it after every meal.. Try not to leave any food around the extraction area so it does not get infected.. ie.. DRY SOCKET......Health Question & Answer

i had a tooth removed two weeks ago today.... lower right side.... my dentist didn't explain anything to me!.... i was just told not to use a straw, not to kiss, and not to smoke!.... i ate whatever i wanted.... i just chewed on my left side.... you can eat what you want, just stay away from hot and cold.... i wound up with a dry socket and went back 4 days after my tooth was pulled.... the dentist just packed it with cloves and everything i ate tasted disgusting!.... i didn't go back to him and i still had pain 7 days after! i went to rite aid and bought a clove oil kit and filled my tooth with the cotton pellet drenched in clove oil.... it burned really bad, but so far.... no problems!.... sometimes it's better to do things yourself, rather than pay all this money for the doctor to do it!.... nobody can tell you how you feel, except yourself!.... good luck with everything!Health Question & Answer
