Question: Post-op care for a labial frenectomy.?

I just a lower labial frenectomy done by laser......and they never gave me a post-op care sheet.. I just have a gaping hole where they cut the frenum (not stitched, but not bleeding), and it didn't hurt too much until I ate some pasta with tomato sauce.. This was almost 2 hours ago and it still hurts like hell!! But I don't know if I can brush, what to swish with, etc......what not to eat......I'm totally freaked out, I'm going to take the pain medication they gave me but I really feel it just needs to be cleaned out.. I've been rinsing with water but it's only hurting worse and worse..

You shouldn't eat anything but soft mild foods for a bit.. Rinse with warm salt water.. Then leave it alone.. Don't do anything to disturb the healing.. Try drinking warm not scalding tea..Health Question & Answer
