Terrible pain after wisdom tooth extraction?!
Question: Terrible pain after wisdom tooth extraction.?
I got my lower left wisdom tooth pulled yesterday morning. The dentist gave me no happy gas nor was I put under. They numbed it, and she also gave me no prescriptions. She told me to take 800 mg motrin, which i cannot find in stores, and I prefer not to take three 200 pills every four hours, because that doesn't seem right, considering the package tells you not to take more than six pills a day.
I am in excruciating pain after about an hour of any over-the-counter painkiller.
I also had an infection in the tooth before the extraction, took some penicillin, and that pain stopped, however, there was still some infection once the tooth was taken out.
Should I be taking stronger pain medication/antibiotics.?Health Question & Answer
