Black gum line on recent dental work?!

Question: Black gum line on recent dental work.?
I recently went to the dentist (yesterday), for a cleaning, two fillings, and a sealant (or, so I am told it was a sealant) put on the outside of my tooth. I started noticing quite a bit of pain after the anesthetic wore off. I didn't think much of it, but while brushing my teeth later last night I noticed the gum line was pulled down slightly more than usual and had a black line/discolor between the tooth and gum. I have tried calling the dentist after hours with this concern, and taking over-counter meds for pain. If anyone has had problems with, or knows what this could possibly be, please advise.

Answers:
sealants and fillings had nothing to do with it. most probably oral prophylaxis procedures caused it.impingement on marginal gums is very common when the dentist attempts to remove calculus which are located subgingivally. its the tip of the ultrasonic scaler (used by dentist to remove hard deposits) that causes it.about the gum recession, maybe that was previously occupied by hard calcular deposits and you just mistaken it as recession.dont worry your gums will heal in few days time.
