Mouthwash > toothbrushing?!

Question: Mouthwash > toothbrushing.?
can mouthwash replace toothbrushing...or is it always toothbrushingHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
The only thing mouthwash does is temporarily help kill some of the germs that cause tooth decay. And freshen breath.

However, the thing that causes the bacteria to be there in the first place is plaque and tartar on the teeth. You need to mechanically remove that in order to remove the things that cause decay.

Think of it this way: let's say you want to clean a dish that still has food on it. You can pour water over the top of the food and wash off some of it, but unless you scrape the food off, the plate will never get clean.Health Question & Answer

No. When we realize the plaque on our teeth is a form of biofilm, its easier to understand. Ya know that stuff that grows on the dog's waterbowl.? Biofilm. Can you rinse it and have all the stuff come off.? Not really. Same thing in our mouth...the biofilm has to be broken up and brushing and flossing do that job.

You really don't even need toothpaste. If you want to use mouthwash after breaking up that film, it does make your mouth feel tingly, but it is not making it cleaner.Health Question & Answer

NO !!! . MOUTHWASH NEVER REPLACE A GOOD DENTAL BRUSH. TOOTHBRUSH 2 TIMES A DAY AN MOUTHWASH AT LEAST ONE OR TWICE A DAY IS RECOMENDED. also, FLOSS FOR HEALTHIER GUM.Health Question & Answer

Always brush! Swishing before can loosen plaque for brushing. Swishing afterwards can freshen breath and help with bacteria. But it cannot replace brushing and flossing. Hope this helps.Health Question & Answer

NEVER.
