What to expect with wisdom teeth extraction?!
Question: What to expect with wisdom teeth extraction.?
Thursday I'm getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth out. 3 of them are impacted, completely horizontal and touching my other molars. The 4th one is partially out. I'm incredibly nervous and anxious about this procedure. I know I'm undergoing Intravenous Conscious Sedative, but I'm still nervous about all of it. How long can I expect to be in pain after the procedure.? And how long should I expect to be eating soft foods for.? Health Question & Answer

I had all 4 out. 2 were horizontal and impacted. I only needed 1 pain pill, as the pain was not too bad. I ate nothing but smoothies for about 2-3 days. I then began eating mashed potatoes, oatmeal, and soup. The swelling was mostly gone in approximately a week. The extraction sites still ache minimally on occasion. Holes with stiches healed very quickly. Top took a little longer.Health Question & Answer
The day of I actually went to Qudoba and got a burrito...OMG that was the biggest mistake of my life, it hurt so bad with the sauces and beans getting into the stiches. I can honestly say that the initial pain maybe last for a day or two, but after that there is a nagging pain that bothers you to some degree. If you get pain drugs you'll be fine. BTW enjoy your trip with Sedative,I wish my wisdom teeth could regrow so I could get the sedative again.Health Question & Answer
The worst thing will be the facial swelling. Pain won't be too bad after the second day.Health Question & Answer
