If the floss smells when you floss between your crown does that mean that it's rotting?!

Question: If the floss smells when you floss between your crown does that mean that it's rotting.?
Answers:
Yes. And that's a good way of putting it. Plaque stinks. Its disease process includes fermentation. Mix that with flesh and blood and you have a very smelly mess. When my patients are skeptical about the value of flossing, I tell them to floss and smell it. If they want that in their mouth, then good luck.
