Okay so I have had braces 4 a little over 2 months now n I had them tightended 4 the first time a few weeks ago. I asked people if it hurt n some say it did n some say it wasnt bad. So when I went I thought the apptmnt would take like 30 mins or so. But it only took about 5 mins n it didnt hurt at all. N I think the dentist/ortho is the scariest place on earth. After its a tad bit sore but not bad at all. Tylenol will take it right away. Dont worry. :)

Yeah it does hurt every time they get tighetend. Its never as bad as when you first get them on though and it tends to go much quicker. I just used the wax that the orthadontist gives you and i massaged bonjela onto my gums which sounds quite odd but it really helped me alot!

It won't be AS painful as getting them on, but they will be sore for a couple days. Sometimes I'd get mine tightened and they wouldn't start hurting until a week later. Don't worry, you'll get through it. It's worth it.Health Question & Answer
