Braces cut my cheek: what can i do?!

Question: Braces cut my cheek: what can i do.?
hey everyone, i accidentally punched myself in the face, and my braces cut up the middle left corner of my cheeks. its a bit swollen, and it happened over a day ago. whenever i eat or move my teeth around, my cheek gets stuck on the part where it got cut up. any way to stop this or should i wait to become unswollen/heal.? and whats the fastest way for it to heal.?

thanks.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
honestly.? the real way to avoid this is....
LIVE IT OUT.
your lips will actually create a callus from the braces friction and help prevent this in the future. to help it heal, just be extra careful from further cutting it up. eat soft foods, maybe even put some of the orthodontist's wax on your braces, and take some ibuprofen if it hurts.
also, dont punch yourself in the face. hahaha. I got braces too, I hate 'em.Health Question & Answer

I have braces on right now, so take the wax that the ortho gave u and COVER the braces and wire on the side where u are injured, LEAVE IT IN THERE AND DONT TAKE IT OUT TO BRUSH TEETH, u waste alot of wax and u can go for a day or 2, This way your cheek will be given a decent rest and will be tough for the futureHealth Question & Answer

um you can put a small piece of garlic. Just don't think about its taste. If you don't want garlic, you can put a cotton to comfort your cheeks.so it won't get stick.Health Question & Answer

You accidentally punched yourself in the face.? HAHA. wow

Dip a QTip in Hydrogen Peroxide and put it on your cheek... it helps sores get air = heal faster. Health Question & Answer

back in the day when braces really hurt, they would give you a type of wax to put between your cheek and braces. For now try using gum that wont stick to them permanentlyHealth Question & Answer

Use a clump of wax & put it on the bracket that gets caught on the cut.Health Question & Answer
