I went to the dentist and now my bottom 1/2 lip is swollen?!

Question: I went to the dentist and now my bottom 1/2 lip is swollen.?
I just went to the dentist where I had deep cleaning in my left side both upper and lower quadrant. I put ice but it hasn't helped yet what else do I used.? I don't know if i bit it because since my whole mouth was numb I didn't felt anything until it got swollen. It doesn't hurt but does anyone now if it couldn't been the anesthesia that they used.? Or is it normal after effect.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Sorry, but you must've accidentally chewn your lip whilst it was numb. Most commonly happens in children, but sometimes in forgetful adults too.
The anaesthetic doesn't have any such effect.
I have seen a number of patients where you can see the tooth marks in their lips, and one patient who actually bit all the way thru! Ouch!
All you can do is take painkillers and wait for it all to settle down. It will take 2-3 days. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

you probably bit the heck out of your lip. Did you look inside your lip.? It will heal...just will take some time. Call your dentistHealth Question & Answer

Just be patient... and try holding an ice cube in your lower
lip... but be careful not to accidentally choke on it.

If possible... take a nap... it will look a lot better when
you wake up.
