Dentist please help, please!!?!

Question: Dentist please help, please!!.?
I had veneers a few weeks ago and had problems with them. So today the dentist made some adjustments because one was hitting hard with my bite. NOW my bite feels like its almost hitting my lower teeth. It feels too low. Can this be fixed without redo the veneer.?

I do NOT want anymore of my teeth adjusted to solve the problem because every time the dentist makes it worse because he ALWAYS in a huge rush.

Can they add more bulk to the veneer he drilled from on the BACK of it or even bonding so my bite can go back to how it was.?

AND my teeth look longer. Is this because my bite is lower.? Iam in pain, will this get fixed at all.?

Thanks so much, please help, Iam worried!!Health Question & Answer

It is hard to understand exactly what your complaint is about the veneers. From what you have said it sounds like the bite was high at first, meaning your veneered teeth were hitting before the rest of your teeth when you closed and after the adjustment they don't hit at all. If this is correct then just let it go. In time your bottom or top or both front teeth will come into contact again and things will feel even. You can't really add to a veneer predictably after it has been bonded in. You failed to mention what type of veneers you had placed. If they were made of a composite then it is easy to add to, if they are made of porcelain then you can only bond composite to them and the composite bond to porcelain will not last a very long time. If you are in pain that is a different problem and you should go back to your dentist to have him/her check out what is causing your pain. If your dentist always seems like he is rushed then see if you can schedule some time with him so that he can fully address your problem. If they keep giving you the run around find another dentist for a second opinion. At my office, if I place veneers on someone it is planned out in great detail and the goal is always to give the patient what they want as long as it is reasonable. Not everyone is a good candidate for veneers and if you weren't they should have informed you. That's why it takes at the minimum three visits plus a consultation visit to do them and because I charge roughly $1200 dollars per tooth I have to make sure the patient is satisfied. If your dentist didn't take his time in planning and rushed through everything and they cost half as much, then that is what you probably have to live with. I don't mean to be so blunt but the only way your dentist or any other dentist can help you is if you are patient and be as specific as you can about what is going on and what your expectations are so that in the future there won't be any misunderstandings.
