The papillae fall off my tongue!!!?!

Question: The papillae fall off my tongue!!!.?
For about three years now I have had this strange problem with my tongue. The little filiform papillae fall off in patches. I don't have any other symptoms except for that.

They move around all over my tongue. I just recently read that it could be a B vitamin deficiency so I started using supplements.

I was wondering if anyone else has had or heard of this happening at all.

Answers:
A B12 deficiency can cause your tongue to 'swell'. Best bet is sublingual B12 - swallowing pills may not help you.

But you will want to follow up with a simple blood test for B12. A deficiency can strike so many parts of your body it's scary. Google it and see.

I get monthly shots, plus I do use the sublingual pills on and off. Life is so much better - you probably have other symptoms and don't realize it. If you DO have it, I strongly recommend the book "Can it be B-12.?"Health Question & Answer
