How do the doctors remember everyone's name?!

Question: How do the doctors remember everyone's name.?
I have been seeing this orthodontist since July 25th. I got my braces on August 25th. I had my chart in the back room and i was on the couch waiting for a seat to be open for my braces. And one of my favorite orthodontist nurses asked how my birthday was. So how do they remember our names so well.? Thanks :)Health Question & Answer

We do review charts at the beginning of the day so we know who is coming in. We know your name because you show up when we expect you to be there. However, often times I can just remember names & things a patient told me 3-6 months ago because they are interesting or fun to work on. Other times, I'll make a note in the chart like: "Going on vacation to Paris." so I can remember to ask about it.

Your chart will say your birthdate too, so maybe she looked at it earlier and noticed you had a birthday pass.Health Question & Answer

they look at the chart or they have the chart information on their computers and look at it before the day starts. We need to know whats happening with you before we begin the procedure and your name is the only thing that separates you from the others.Health Question & Answer
