Having a tooth extracted?!

Question: Having a tooth extracted.?
I went and had my tooth extracted today. It was the last molar on my right side. Everything seems to be going ok so far. I got it done about 3 hours ago, so I'm still numb, and I have taken some pain meds. But what I am wondering is, how can you tell when a blood clot has formed where the extraction was.? Like, when do you know.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The blood clot will form naturally within 24 hours. Be sure to follow post-op instruction or you could lose that clot, which would be very painful. You will know the blood clot is there because if you look in the mirror, you will be able to see the area where the tooth was removed is filled with a dark red clot. If you are no longer biting on gauze, and no longer bleeding, then the clot has formed.Health Question & Answer
