Do braces hurt getting put in?!

Question: Do braces hurt getting put in.?
Answers:
Getting the braces put in didn't hurt at all - its kinda weird getting fitted for them, getting them glued/secured to each tooth, etc but no pain. The part that caused me pain was when I went in once a month or so to tighten and adjust them. The night after my teeth and jaws would ache a lot - sometimes I'd take Tylenol so it wouldn't bother me as I slept. But you get used to that after a while too. All in all, try not to worry too much about the braces - there'll be very little pain, and probably none at all when they're being put in. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

not usually unless you have a bad orthodontist and they make a mistake and hurt you (don't get scared-very unlikely, besides mouth injuries heal fast) but it won't hurt until a few hours after you get them put in because of the wire pushing your teeth together. my suggestion is to take 2 advils or tylonals right before you get them on and take more whenever you canHealth Question & Answer

It doesn't hurt getting them put in but it will hurt afterwards so take a painkiller as soon as you get home. also try not to move your tongue when the ortho is putting them in, I did and I accidentally tasted the glue- it tastes so so bad >:OHealth Question & Answer
