What do they do with braces for under bites?!

Question: What do they do with braces for under bites.?
I've had my spacers since Thursday and get my braces October 9. I want metallic blue and metallic green. I'm developing an under bite so they are giving me braces. Will I have to get a train track.? If so, what is that.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
i think they'd use rubber bands to connect your top and bottom teeth to pull them in the needed direction.

i had an overbite and that's what they did. i'd think they'd do the same thing in the opposite direction for you.

yes, it was a train track on top and bottom, but that was many years back! they are always improving the technology, so you might get something better these days.

every time i went to the orthodontist to get them tightened, my teeth would hurt so much i had to eat only soup for 2 days. :(Health Question & Answer

I think they may apply the braces to the back of your teeth so they push forward and even out with your other jaw (under bite) but I'm not positve. I had an over bite when I was a pre-teen and the braces helped. Health Question & Answer
