ur12ok, telling someone to brush hard and that they can remove cavities by doing that is bad advice. brushing softly is more than adequate (plaque, what you're brushing to remove) is soft. if it is not removed, it hardens, no amount of brushing will remove it - that's what dentist cleanings are for.

also, you should not be afraid of dairy. dairy may have some sugar, but it also has calcium and a few other nutrients. cheese is credited with reducing a person's chances of tooth decay, particularly when it's the last thing eaten during a meal. the biggest risk factor is a high sugar diet, e.g. lollies, chocolate, dried fruit, ice-cream and soda.

to keep your teeth healthy and as cavity-free as possible (some people are just unlikely, and will get them no matter what), this is what you need to do:

1. brush softly for 2 minutes twice daily
2. brush in the right way (look up instructions on google, there are plenty).
3. floss at least once a day
4. avoid lots of snacking, and have sweets with meals
5. visit the dentist twice a year (or at least once), to avoid small problems becoming big problems
