If you are older and the stains have a lot to do with age, then your dentist might need to give you bleaching trays, or perform in-office whitening (cheap but last almost a whole year).

The best way to whiten is personal trays from the dental office you take home and do yourself or the in office whitening called Zoom whitening. That is the best cause its one time and it only takes an hour.

Nothing really works. I've tried all whiteners and the best is at the Dentists' Office. He/ she will do the whitening for you but make sure you match your teeth with a good color. Health Question & Answer
I don't use whiteners, but I've heard that you should be careful not to use the whitening strips more than the box recommends. Some have turned their teeth an odd bluish color by using them too much.Health Question & Answer
