Question: I just got my tooth pulled an at 11:40 and i want to know when i can eat..?
its still bleeding a little bit. it kinda hurts. What should i do.?.?.?.?
oh and any general advice on after getting a tooth pulled.

Post extraction instructions include: 1) Do not eat or drink hot ...for 6 hours. if you must eat than it must be soft and cold. 2) Don't smoke for at least 6 hours. 3)You may put ice cubes against your cheek paralleling to the site of the extraction. for 10-15 minutes 4)If you bleed refer to your Dentist . Leave it alone for one, it's important to let the blot clot stay in there or you could get what's called a "dry socket" which is very very painful.
Leave the gauze in for an hour or so, or until it stops bleeding.
Don't smoke or drink out of a straw, as that could also disturb the blood clot.
Don't eat on that side for as long as you can stand it, you don't want food to get stuck in there, ew!Health Question & Answer

Depends on the tooth, and your dentist should have given you instructions, but generally, you should wait 24 hours before eating on that side.

Well, I had my wisdom teeth pulled early this year and four teeth pulled for braces. Sooo, when it does stop bleeding..which sounds like it should be very soon. Eat soft, non-hot foods. Like, mashed potatoes, ice cream, etc. The pain should subside in a few days and you should able to eat regular food again in about a week. (:Health Question & Answer
when I had my wisdom teeth pulled I ate soft foods like mashed potatoes, pudding, soup stuff I didn't have to chew much. Whatever you do don't drink from a straw. That could cause dry socket and is very painful. Health Question & Answer
