Hello. My dad is 39 years old and just had his wisdom teeth cut out. I've never seen him in so much pain. Should he take advil or another pain reliever.? He says it hurts too bad to sleep so he just sits there. I feel so bad for him. What can I do to make him feel better.?Health Question & Answer

after the wisdom tooth extraction the dentist prescribes some medication that should be taken regularly and he should follow all the instructons given by the dentist.if it is more than a day after the extraction he can do warm salne rinses ragularly that will take care of the pain to some extent.for more informations on extractions you can visit the following link

He should have been given a prescription for vicodin or another strong pain killer by the Dr. who removed his teeth. Has he had it filled yet at the pharmacy.? It hurts so bad for a few days and all you can really do is take the pain pills and sleep it off. Hopefully he isnt being stubborn, thinking he can do fine without painkillers!!Health Question & Answer
The oral surgeon should have recommended something or given a prescription. Do what the oral surgeon said to do. Other than that, any plain aspirin or other over the counter headache stuff is all you can do. You might consider ice chips. Ice will chill the area and will ease the pain for a short time.
