How long should I feel pain after having impacted wisdom teeth removed?!

Question: How long should I feel pain after having impacted wisdom teeth removed.?
I had 3 impacted wisdom teeth removed and 1 extracted 8 days ago and the back of my mouth feels fine. I have been eating pretty much anything I want. Oddly enough, the rest of my teeth hurt now - especially the bottom eye teeth - and they're extremely sensitive to hot and cold. I've never had that problem in my life! Has anyone else experienced this and how long did it last.? Are my teeth moving around with all the extra space now.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes, it absolutely can be due to the released pressure of those teeth. I've had two pulled so far, both impacted. The first one was awful. I lost my clot and it hurt for the longest time all along the bottom row of my teeth. They gave me 800mg Motrin alone for it (I couldn't take the Tylenol) and I used nearly all of it in the following weeks. With my second one (right above it) I didn't have any pain at all following it. All the pain from before was gone, and it's been almost a month - only had to take ONE of the Motrin's this time.

As far as the sensitivity goes, I would assume that some of it could have to do with the procedure. I can't honestly say that I know why, though. I think it would be best to call your dentist when you can, just to make sure that everything's alright (and it very well could be).

Once that pain is gone though, you'll feel so much better. Impacted wisdom teeth hurt like hell! Best of luck to you, and I hope you're feeling better soon! =]Health Question & Answer

It's entirely possible that your wisdom teeth were putting pressure on the rest of your teeth and, therefore, your teeth are 'released' of this pressure. That release of pressure, as you suspect, is causing the discomfort/pain in the rest of your teeth. Take over the counter pain reliever (or contact your oral surgeon if that's not enough). Some people I've known continued to experience similar pain for up to two weeks. If you can take Tylenol, try taking 2 of the Arthritis Strength Tylenol. It's stronger than Extra Strength Tylenol.Health Question & Answer

I have experienced this problem before. Yes, at first it feels fine but later on, for about a few weeks, for me I'd say two weeks before I actually got used to it. It isn't that your teeth are moving around; they are actually just moving forward and in no other direction, but I suppose that counts as moving around. If it really hurts unbearably, but only then, take painkillers but only one dose per three days. No more, because pain killers aren't healthy and can kill you if you take too many.Health Question & Answer

Hola!
Well if this helps you, i had a surgery like that a while ago, i had 3 teeth extracted, i was really swollen for a week and a half, but after that it kept hurting for one more week. I had also some bruises on my cheeks, but my teeth never felt sensitive.
They need to be very careful in those surgeries, they can hurt some nerve and maybe that is why you are feeling sensitive to cold and hot. you should go and see your dentist just to make sure everything is ok. Health Question & Answer

I think you should probably talk to your dentist about it. I had my wisdom teeth removed (2 of them) recently, and I didn't have any problems with my other teeth.
At the same time I don't want to tell you there's something wrong and freak you out lol. Google it and call your dentist, the best things I can think to do.Health Question & Answer

i can tell you about sensitivity but thats it

ok, it can take up to three weeks, that's how long it took me and no, your teeth won't shift back as teeth only shift forward (I used to think the same thing and I asked my ortho and she explained that they only move forward)Health Question & Answer

Yes, your teeth are just adjusting to the extra room and the aching will stop in a few days. You can take a painkiller to ease the pain.Health Question & Answer
