I just had a tooth extraction and it irritated my gum.do i have gingivitis?!

Question: I just had a tooth extraction and it irritated my gum.do i have gingivitis.?
i just had my teeth(1st&2nd molar-lower part) extracted.after two days, the gum on my wisdom tooth got painful. it is so tough to eat, even swallow food. the dentist said that I'll just continue taking antibiotics but so far it is not that effective.last night my wisdom tooth even bleed and there is a tingling sensation and now, even the gum of just extracted teeth is already painful, especially when im near on something hot or exert too much effort. it's been five days since my extraction but the pain is still there.
i presumed that maybe my dentist pulled too hard that it affected my gum or pricked it and infected it.
what do you think is the best thing to do about my case.?is antibiotic enough to cure this.?do I have what they call as gingivitis.?thank you!

Answers:
You may have some thing which is called Dry Socket, this is where a blood clot did not form in the socket correctly after your extraction, its nothing to worry about really, although it can be worse than the original toothache. Continue taking your antibiotics as they will help with the infection (if thats what it is). Maybe re-visit the dentist and if he thinks it is dry socket he should syringe the socket with anti bacterial mouth wash (this is not painful) and pack some anaesthetising and antibacterial fibre called Alvogyl. I would also suggest buying a bottle of Corsodyl mouthwash and bathing the area with it, it is very affective.

I hope that it all clears up for you soon!Health Question & Answer

The antibiotics can take up to 4 days to work, they are not instant. keep cleaning gently with warm salty water and take Ibroprufen for the pain, this works better than paracetamol. If no better in a week go back to the dentist. I don't think you have given it enough time yet.Health Question & Answer

probably not considering gingivitis doesn
