Hi i got my braces off 2 weeks ago. My ortho gave me a clear retainer that looks like invisilign and she told me i just had to wear it after dinner and she told me i didnt need to wear at school but i noticed that 2 of my teeth were moving and thats all but i dont think my teeth look so straight anymore, i havent noticed big changes in my teeth but do you think i should wear my retainer to school now.? to prevent them from moving .? I havent gone without my retainer as instructed. Are some of my teeth going to move even with a retainer.?.? help.? also i only noticed two of my bottom teeth move that's it.Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Initially after the braces are over, the retainers are given by orthodontist and these are required to be worn day and night for first 6 months except for at time of eating and there after for 6 months at night only. This prevents the teeth from moving back and also makes them stable at their new place. Wearing retainers for more time than prescribed has not side effects. You should consult your ortho on the issue.

Hi! I believe that there are some relapses in ur treatment..In orthodontics, we use the bone to move the teeth. When the bone hasn't properly deposited in the area after the tooth has been moved, it will go back to its original position. I suggest that you wear fixed lingual retainer and not the removable one for at least three months just to be sure. However, I warn you that while you're alive your teeth have minimal movement because your bone has vital cells and it undergoes resorption and deposition.Health Question & Answer
i just got mine off on tuesday and i have a clear retainer too! they get tyucky dont they.? lol, anyways mine told me to weare it 24/7 for a month untill i go back in a month and get my real on that has the metal wire in the fron. then i will only have to wear it at night. you should call your orthodontist and ask if you are suppsoed to wear it all day and all night (except when eating!!)Health Question & Answer
