Question: Do any dentists in the UK still use conscious sedation.?
I know most don't put you to sleep anymore but wondered if they use that other so you're still conscious but on a high, so can't remember what they do.Health Question & Answer

It depends on the type of treatment you are receiving, most work is done by local anesthetic, but in some cases the patient is put to sleep, but a qualified anesthetist is in attendance at all times while the patient is asleep, and the dentist has a limited time in which to carry out the treatment.Local anesthetics are now far more efficient than they once were, and patients hardly feel a thing while being treated.Health Question & Answer
