Question: Please help! How do i get rid of bad mouth ulcers.?
Answers:
Mouth ulcers are often known to be an indication of poor nutritional intake, so it is important to make sure you are eating plenty of fresh veggies, first off.
There is no way to actually get rid of mouth ulcers, but if you apply a sore mouth gel such as Bonjela, this should numb the area so that the ulcers are not as sore. xHealth Question & Answer

What to do about mouth ulcers.?
Unfortunately, there no reliable way of preventing ordinary mouth ulcers.

1)You could try chlorhexidine gluconate mouth rinse, which you can buy in the UK from a pharmacy without a prescription. Use it twice daily. There is some evidence that this may reduce the frequency and severity of recurrent mouth ulcers, but long-term use can stain the teeth.
2)Look for a toothpaste that does not contain sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). One study showed that switching to a SLS-free toothpaste more than halved the likelihood of recurring mouth ulcers, but another study found no difference.

There are various ways of relieving the pain, while waiting for the ulcer to heal itself:

1)Avoid spicy, salty or sour foods until the ulcer has healed.
2)Dissolve a tablet of soluble (dispersible) paracetamol in water, and swirl it round your mouth before swallowing it.
3)Before eating, rinse your mouth with iced water. This may dull the pain, so that eating is more comfortable.
4)Buy a mouth ulcer liquid rinse or gel from a pharmacy. These contain an anaesthetic. Many people find the rinse easier to use than a gel, especially if they have several ulcers at the same time, and the rinse forms a protective barrier over the ulcer as well as relieving pain.
5)Some people find that warm (not hot) camomile tea is helpful. Swirl it round the mouth before drinking it.Health Question & Answer

I'm guessing you're referring to canker sores... try getting some Zilactin B at the drugstore. It covers the sore so that it can heal without being disturbed. Before you put that on the sore, rinse with warm salt water, as many times as you can stand.

To prevent canker sores in the future, eat lots of yogurt. The good bacteria in yogurt is supposed to help prevent sores. Health Question & Answer

My son get's canker sores a lot. He eats the same food as we do so I'm not sure it's poor food intake. He also gets cold sores a lot. He also eats yogurt. The last time he had a bad canker sore outbreak, the doctor was shocked. He had about 30 sores in his mouth. The best thing the doctor could tell us is to have him gargle and swish his mouth out with salt water. It hurts but seems to heal it faster. We tried that medicine that is supposed to coat the sores but he had too many to cover. I don't think canker sores inside and cold sores outside are related but he gets both of them. So try salt water.Health Question & Answer
