I really need help with this?!

Question: I really need help with this.?
Last month I got in a bike accident and went to the dentist. He told me that I might have to get a root canal. I have heard really scary stories about root canal.
Is there a way to avoid it, reduce the pain caused by it or reduce the pain during it.?
I live in Vietnam so that definitely adds to my fears.Health Question & Answer

If you need the root canal there is no way to avoid it, it's funny actually I have my root canal from a bike accident too, mine was right in the front top tooth! Anyway it really doesn't hurt as much as people say it does, the needle does sting but make sure they use topical anesthetic before giving you the needle and you won't feel it too much. Besides the needle you won't feel anything, and you certainly won't feel anything after the root canal because they remove the nerve of the tooth so you'll never feel anything in that tooth again, I get it drilled all the time for internal bleaching and never get freezing.Health Question & Answer

There might not be a way to avoid it if you need a root canal.
Just relax when the dentist is doing the root canal.
If it is really painful, crying may help. Normally you will feel pain after the root canal process, not during the process where the dentist is doing the root canal.
If you are a strong person (physically and mentally) you should feel little or no pain at all.

Just remember to relax. Health Question & Answer
