Are braces covered by Medical?!

Question: Are braces covered by Medical.?
I'm 17 and I want to go to the orthodontist to see if I am covered for braces. Does anyone know if it will be covered by the insurance plan Medical.? I also had four wisdom teeth extracted almost two months ago and it was covered.

I also would like to know how long I can expect to keep the braces on. My teeth are not really bad, but still bad enough to need braces I think. Health Question & Answer

First, you need to read over your insurance policy. Braces are not normally covered by medical insurance but for an oral extraction (getting your wisdom teeth removed) that requires anesthesia is normally covered by medical because of the anesthesia. The best thing to do is to see a dentist or orthodontist to see if you will be covered or not. The receptionist and/or the doctor can tell you whether or not you are covered.
