Yeah they suck and at first they will hurt. I recommend taking some pain pills (advil or whatever) and they trying to sleep.
PS try to sleep on your back because your braces leave indents on your cheeks at first.

Ibuprofen or advil helps a lot with the pain and the swollen gums. I also like to use Orajel it also helps me a lot with the painHealth Question & Answer

It only hurts the first few days after they are put on/tightened.
Take a Ibuprofen and don't chew hard, be prepared to not eat things.
