Are my braces working? :S?!

Question: Are my braces working.? :S.?
Basically, at the latest orthodontic appointment, I was told if the braces fix a small gap in my bottom teeth by the next appointment (24th November/2 months) then I could have my braces off.
I was told that braces are only moving the teeth when your teeth hurt, and they've stopped hurting.
Is this true.? I really want to have them off before the new year, and I need to know A.S.A.P. so I can contact my orthodontist.
Thank you.Health Question & Answer

Don't worry
The pain is an indication the teeth are moving and the faster they move the more pain.. This is usually when the braces are just on or are tightened.

The bit in between may not be sore but the teeth are still moving but very slowly. Sometimes you need to just be patient and allow subtle moves.. Since you are seeing your teeth every day you might not see the changes but The orthodontist will..

i had braces for 2 years and to me it seemed like they were finished moving within the first month i had them, but none the less i had to keep them on. and no just because your mouth stops feeling sore doesnt mean the braces have stopped working. i think its more of the fact that your mouth had finally adjusted to them and they can continue workign without causing anymore pain.Health Question & Answer

Hi there... in some part that is true, however not always. Movement can be minute so after they have been adjusted there's initial pain, however that diminishes after a day or two, but your teeth is still moving. In all honesty, only your orthodontist can help you project a timeline that they may be able to come off.Health Question & Answer
