How can I relieve the pains of TMJ?!

Question: How can I relieve the pains of TMJ.?
I've had TMJ for years now.

-I have pain in my jaw
-BOTH sides of my jaw pop and lock all the time
-I have headaches
-My jaw has a "tired" feeling all the time
-I get ringing in my ears
-I get dizzy very easily

I've done everything to relieve it: eat soft foods, no gum, trying not to clench my teeth. And I've taken loads of motrin as well.

What else can I do to relieve it.? My orthodontist doesn't want to make me a mouth guard until after I get my braces off, which will be sometime in November.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Have you tried tylenol or ibuprofen.? If that doesn't help, you may want to tell your dentist how much pain you are in. Discomfort is normal but pain and all of the other symptoms listed may require some actual meds. Good luck and smile pretty! Its worth it!Health Question & Answer
