When will the pain stop.. read on?!

oh my i feel for you, Wednesday night last week I was in exactly the same place. I had an infected tooth out a big bugger and was in so much pain I was ready to put my head through a window. But it does settle I promise.
Get a strong painkiller, I used one called Paramol, I took two every four hours (I was counting that by the 3hour mark) but you can also take Ibruprofen with that as well, take the Ibruprofen inbetween the paramol. And try to keep as still as you can. Moving around makes the blood pump faster and thus going into the gum more. I sat for the entire day after and by the end of the Thursday (I had the tooth out Weds afternoon) I wasn't in much pain at all. But you must keep the painkillers going for at least a week, dont try to stop before then. i did and suffered for it.
I finally had my first full pain free and painkiller day free this Thursday so you're looking at about a week for total healing. My last stitch finally came out todayHealth Question & Answer

You poor thing. It really can be agony I know.
Couple of things I have always found that helped - rinsing with warm salted water and painting on oil of cloves.
They both treat infection and reduce swelling.
Honestly though - the thing that has helped me more in the past with tooth problems has been taking a small swig of spirits - brandy is good - and holding it onto the sore area. Red wine also worked amazingly well when I went for root canal work and ended up having the smashed wisdom tooth removed by a dentist with his knee on my chest..........Health Question & Answer

If I would you, I would contact the Dentist, cause I know not two people are the same when it comes to the pain you have after having a tooth pulled, but it is possible that you may be getting a dry socket. I had a tooth pulled a couple of months ago, and I got a dry socket. I thought I was going to die, it was worse then a toothache, so try telling the dentist how bad you feel.Health Question & Answer

i had horrible pain for 2 weeks straight after getting my bottom 2 wisdom teeth pulled.
i know, im not helping much here lol
the pain killers didnt help at all so i just laid there not talking, eating, or moving for 2 weeks...which btw doesnt help i learned.
try to do your everyday activitys after 2 days of rest, just gotta push through the pain and it will go away faster(i did this when my top 2 were removed)Health Question & Answer

My older bro had both of his wisdom teeth removed. He also agonized a lot. What i remember of it, was that he took painkillers and he slept for about two days in a row. I dont really remember how long it took for the pain to go away, but i think you'll be fine in about a week.Health Question & Answer

Wow it could take up to or more than 2 weeks for it to settle down, wisdom teeth are the worst teeth to get extracted!

my bro was in ild pain for 3 days, don't eat real hot or cold foods/drinks. stick to mild heated meals. applesauce, nice sandwich, grape juice. cope by taking some advil helps alot.Health Question & Answer
