Question: Has anyone kept their wisdom teeth.?
I have one wisdom tooth growing on the left side of my lower jaw. I'm going to the dentist tomorrow to get it checked. I'm just curious today:
It bothered me a bit for two or three days some time when it was growing. Now it came out a little and I can see 1/3 of what I think is the crown. I've had no pain for months - will I be able to keep this wisdom teeth.?
If so, will this be any guarantee I can keep future ones or is it still better to get rid of all of them.? Like, a wisdom teeth on my right side lower jaw grows in wrong... why keep the one on the left.? Or something.

Wisdom teeth can be kept. you just have to keep them really clean 'cause they are so far back in your mouth. Wisdom teeth need to come out when they haven't completely grown in and have already broken through the your gums. When this happens your are prone to decay and infections. It may not happen immediately but will definitely happen eventually. When a wisdom tooth gets a cavity it is usually very difficult to put a filling in, therefore an extraction would be required.
