Clear or wire retainers?!
Question: Clear or wire retainers.?
I get my braces off in a few days and i was just wondering about the retainers...
i know i get the wire one they day i get them off
but then the next day i get another one.
is that like the clear one.?
and if it is a clear top retainer, do i get the choice to wear the clear one during the day instead of the one with the wire.?

There's two types of retainer, which you already know- the wire front with the plastic bit for the roof of your mouth and the clear trays.
I haven't got mine yet, but I'm going to have the top clear tray- which I wear day AND night for the first 3 years, and then just at night after that.
Clear trays are similar to Invisalign braces trays.
The plastic is quite thin, and moveable, but once they 'click' into place, they act as any other retainer would.
Naturally, you must remove when eating, but yes- these plastic clear trays can be used NIGHT and DAY for use as a proper retainer.
They are the more 'expensive' option, but they're well worth it.
