I am very embarrassed because I have crooked, gaped teeth and I cant afford to have them fixed. It really affects my self confidence, what should I do.?

You really got me to thinking back on this one. My parents didn't do a good job at seeing me get to the dentist nearly as much as I should have. My teeth got really bad. I lived with serious pain for a couple years.
If you live in the US, you can contact your county's department of social services. There are programs for medical and dental insurance available in every county of every state. You might even get this insurance for free depending on your income.
That is what I did. My teeth were too far gone to be saved so I got dentures. When I saw a clean straight smile, I actually cried. I had a smile back that I never thought I would see.
You might not be to the point I was at, but in theory it is the same. You need to get care and can't afford it. You pay taxes for these programs to be there. Take advantage of them. There is no shame in asking for help with medical care when you actually need it.
You will see your confidence improve and your health will as well.

I always wonder the same thing.
