Wow,
I'm worried for you. Here is what will get you by until you see your dentist. It is not something recommended for days at a time. But I know it will get you through until Monday.
Take 800 mg.( Advil or anything with Ibuprofen) and 1000 mg. Tylenol. Make sure you eat something and lots of water with it!
I'd rather you be seen ASAP by your dentist or whom ever is on call for him. Call his office number. There, they will give you a number you can call, for an emergency such as yours.
Please be seen soon! You need to be put on antibiotics right away. That will take the swelling down. Willl not get rid of your problem all together. Once you are no longer on the antibiotics, the pain will start all over, on your tooth. You will need treatment on the tooth.Health Question & Answer

You are describing an infection that could quickly become life threatening. If you were just having pain, the previous answer of 1000mg of paracetamol plus 800 mg of ibuprofen (don't know your brand over there) would work. When you are getting swelling like you describe, even antibiotics aren't enough. You could start to get infection leaking back into your brain. Go to an emergency room at hospital for treatment. This is nothing to play around with.

Yes, I agree that you should go to the ER if you can't get to the dentist yet. Being the weekend, that's probably your only option unless you can phone the dentist office and get their emergency on-call dentist. Perhaps they can call you in an antibiotic. Getting started on an antibiotic immediately is essential in order to get this infection down. This is serious. I hope you feel better soon.Health Question & Answer

Go to your local ER. The only thing that is going to help it is antibiotics. You are going to have to take those to get rid of the infection and bring the swelling down. Then you can take the pain meds and get some relief.
I will tell you that you will probably not feel better until tomorrow, UNLESS the hospital gives you something by injection or IV.Health Question & Answer

You are already doing everything you can. get to the dentist asap.Health Question & Answer

I had this once and thought it Would go away, not even paracetamol, codeine and dihydrocodiene or aspirin nor any nsaid's touched it,i'd have to put hot water in for five Min's to stop pain, then suddenly i needed to suck cold air past tooth and abscess.it was the DIVA of all pain.

They can drive you nuts and it got so bad i was admitted to a hospital and put on IV antibiotics. which worked really quickly. swelling almost went in a day. pain went by dentist injecting anaesthetic in mouth were infection was under tooth. It happened to fast i really would urge you to go to A and E, i could not recognise my own face for a day!Health Question & Answer
