Answers:
Yes, it sounds like you are indeed grinding your teeth.

You have two options:
1 - get an over the counter mouth guard, mold it to your mouth, and wear it while sleeping
2 - see your dentist and have one custom made for you

I grind my teeth and clench during the day, so I know what you are going through. I tried the over the counter guard first, then went and saw my dentist, and after more complex problems were found --- I was placed in full orthodontics and have had fabulous results! I will end up in a splint/ mouth guard when I am finished with braces, but things will be better.

Talk to your dentist to make sure something more serious isn't going on and then go from there. My dentist was the person who told me to get an over the counter guard first and then consider a custom one because the custom guards were pricey. Health Question & Answer

In all of the cases I've ever seen where people grind their teeth the cause was TMJ problems or a C2 vertebra misalignment. To get that taken care of, you need to visit a chiropractor, particularly one whose name appears on this list: http://www.kevinhearon.com/CEA/cceplocat...Health Question & Answer
