Question: How long until the pain is unnoticeable .?
Got braces Tuesday.
They are horrible on the cheeks.... :(
I was wondering how long it takes on average to get used to having braces.?
And how long does it normally take to feel the pulling.?
Because I could feel my roots being tugged, just in 2 days.

Yes, its all normal... the first time you get braces, its going to hurt for at least a week. When you go to get them tightened, the pain wont last much longer than 2 days though...
Make sure you use wax over the brackets if it begins to cut into your cheeks! It really hurts, that does. Lol

I seem to remember it can take a week or so for things to settle down - you WILL get used to it. Each time you go in for an adjustment you will feel a bit of pulling again.
I used to use something - special wax I think - to put on the sharp edges sometimes. I used to get sores sometimes thanks to the sharp bits rubbing on my cheeks and behind my lips, especially after playing the flute.
I remember having lots of dreams about my teeth falling out when I had braces. It never happened! Your teeth are being pulled around and that is going to feel weird for a while. Please talk to your dentist so they can give you some peace of mind.
