Question: Has anyone tried the over the counter temporary fillings.?
I just had a root canal done on Tuesday and I think that my temporary filling is out. I can still see it slightly in the mirror but i can't feel it with my tongue and I can taste the "medicine" that they packed my tooth with.
I already had an infection in this tooth and took antibiotics for it, last dose was wednesday. Should I be too concerned about my infection coming back because of this.? Is a temporary filling repair kit the way to go.? My dentist's office is closed for the weekend so I'm not sure what to do, I do already have an appointment for Tuesday though.Health Question & Answer

Don't mess with it too much. Those temp. fillings don't work well at all. The only thing they really help with is pain, when the nerve is exposed to the air this causes the majority of the pain, the filling can plug that hole until the person gets to the dentist for repair. Just be careful until your appt. on Tuesday, don't do anything to jar loose the fill material that's already there. Eat soft foods, nothing too cold and nothing too hot, etc. and try not to mess with it with your tongue either, hang in there until nest week!Health Question & Answer
