Did I swallow a tonsil stone?!

Question: Did I swallow a tonsil stone.?
I'm 17 and have just discovered that I have white spots on my tonsils. So I did a bit of research and discovered that what I have are called tonsil stones. I tried gargling with salt water and about 5 minutes later, I started to feel a lump on the right side of my throat, which is on the same side as the tonsil stone. even the right side of my neck feels tight. What really bothers me, though, is that I'm not sure if it would ever go down, even if I did swallow it. I tried drinking a hot tea. The tea went down, and I can breathe just fine, but I still feel like something, possibly the tonsil stone, is there. What do I do.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
FYI,
TONSILITHS OR "TONSIL STONES" are not stones at all. These are just globules of smelly opaque masses of bacteria and lyymphatic immune cells.
IF YOU JUST HAPPEN TO SWALLOW 1 NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.
MAKE SURE YOU STAY WELL HYDRATED AND DRINK WATER NOT JUST CARBONATED SODA.

you don't need to go to the doctor...or take an antibiotic. tonsil stones are actually common. and suck to have. they are really stinky and cause bad breath. if you can open your mouth wide and see them, try to snag it loose with your finger or anything else. try using a flash light. if you can't see it, just stick your finger to the back and side of your throat and try to knock it loose. and if you still can't do any of that it will eventually come loose and you will probably swallow it or spit it out. Health Question & Answer

Hello...Ok, the idea of having "tonsil" stones is more of a fantasy than realistic...Their is a condition with that title but it's rare...The chances are more likely that you have an early stage of "Strep Throat"....and you don't want to ignore that possibility....You need to see your family MD or an ENT, Ear, Nose, & Throat Doctor..... ASAP. You will be put on antibiotics and the sooner the better. Good luck and I wish you well.Health Question & Answer

well you should go to the Dr and get on an antibiotic for this.Health Question & Answer
