Hey Chantrelle,

You should call the office & give them an update on your tooth. It sounds as though you may have an infection. Did your dentist give you any antibiotics.? If they have, the antibiotics will start taking effect within 24 hours and the sensitivity to pressure will start to settle down.

The dentist will let you know if you need an endo (nerve treatment, then filling, and eventually a crown) or if the tooth needs to come out. You may be sensitive for a couple days after either treatment, but it will be tolerable and it will go away. You will be frozen for both treatments. If I were you, I'd definitely try to save the tooth by doing the endo treatment.Health Question & Answer
