Wow, what educated answers you're getting on this one, huh.?.?

If her face is still swollen, that could be a number of things... Perhaps she is having a reaction to the anesthetic.?.? Maybe they did hit a nerve, in which case, the swelling should go down in a few days... Otherwise, they may have failed to fill the cavity properly. I'd say if the swelling doesn't go down within the next couple of days, take her back immediately. also, watch her closely for any signs of pain or discomfort... Any signs, you should take her back in... Either way, you sound pretty concerned, I would still call the dentist just to let them know what's going on and find out if they can give you any kind of explanation or any suggestions for reducing the swelling...Health Question & Answer

This is a question for your dentist. Although I am no longer involved in this field, I was a chair side assistant for eight years. When we filled a baby tooth, my doc just used nitrous oxide (laughing gas). The effects of this on baby teeth was marvelous. The kiddo just fell asleep and evidently so did the tooth. In all those eight years, I never saw a shot done for routine work on a baby tooth and not one child complained of pain during the procedure.Health Question & Answer
